"AUTHENTIC and EXOTIC Malay Dish"

NELAYAN (fisherman). Another favourite place of mine for lunch. Definitely the best in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. The best "MASAK LOMAK/LEMAK" you can ever find in Malaysia!!! Yes, it can be found here at this restaurant. This restaurant was even featured in the well known TV3 show called "JALAN-JALAN CARI MAKAN" years ago.

Well, I don't have to say much, just look at the picture. Nelayan sells varieties of "MASAK LOMAK/LEMAK". Basically they have big prawns, catfish, beef, chicken, smoked beef, delicacies such as cow's lung, JANGEK (tendons, skins from cow's feet), LANDAK (porcupine), tripes, venison and many more, all mainly cooked as "MASAK LOMAK/LEMAK". I am not exaggerating because this restaurant is definitely selling exotic Malay food. More precisely "NEGERI SEMBILAN" exotic and authentic Malay food (many delicacies). Some of the dishes served are very hard to find in any normal restaurants. But as exotic as the food is, only HALAL food is served here. There is no such things like monkey's brain, snakes or bear's meat because in the end this restaurant is a MUSLIM's restaurant.

The best "SAMBAL" (as mild and as hot as you want), "RENDANG", "GULAI", name any NEGERI's MALAY dishes and you can find it at this place. "BEGEDIL", "AYAM KAMPUNG" (better than organic chicken!), "PARU DENDENG" (must try, the best way to cook cow's lung), "TELUR MASIN" (made from duck eggs), "PETAI JERUK" (the best STINKBEAN!), "CENCALUK" (YUMMY!!!!), "ULAM RAJA" (very very fresh!), "TEMPOYAK CILI API" (durian with cili api, the best! You could not even taste anything else once consumed! Literally!!)

Not appetizing? Haaaa don't judge a book by its cover okay. Try first then be the judge.

Okay a tip that I learned after a few years of "TAPAU"-ing (take away) at Nelayan's. Bring your own containers/tupperwares for the food that you wish to buy, seriously the price differs and cheaper (not sure why the huge differences in pricing since they just used cheap plastics for take away food). Yes, since Nelayan serves the best, so the price is the best as well (EXPENSIVE but not MICHELIN STAR kind of restaurant expensive), it is expensive since a single catfish will cost RM3.50 up to RM6.00 and a scoop of smoked beef "MASAK LEMAK" will cost around RM6.00 up to RM10.00. Expensive for some people but for me it is worth every single cents I paid. I can confidently say that no way any hotels in Malaysia, no matter how many stars the hotel is can even compete with Nelayan. Why? Because Nelayan's food is ten million times more authentic, exotic, and lots of DELICACIES!!!

Okay, another thing that is unique about Nelayan is that they are selling honeys. Not just any kind of honey but the rare ones. Yes, straight from the forest. You can request but a small bottle will cost you RM180-RM200 and a big bottle will cost around RM230-RM400 (the price depends on the availability, difficulties to obtain it). However since these honeys are sold out, I didn't manage to capture the picture.

However if you are just looking for good honey that is less expensive, they do sell honeys from the bee farm as well. I took the pictures as per below, the pricing differs on the type of honey, starting from RM25 up to RM40 for farmed honey. They offer three types of farmed honey called "Madu Tualang"(from Tualang bees), "Madu Kelulut"(from Kelulut bees) and also the regular honey. Not added sugar!!! As I had mentioned earlier, only AUTHENTIC food and everything else are served or sold.

This place is not a disappointment. This I can definitely GUARANTEE.

I have had many opportunities to taste different kinds of MASAK LEMAK but still NELAYAN serves the best with plenty of varieties. This restaurant is located just opposite of Sek. Keb Rahang.

It is easy to find this restaurant just look for any kind of signboard , there is one nearby Seremban's PKNS and Gymnasium buildings.

I have had only visited this place during lunchtime so I am not sure whether it is opened at night. They provide catering services too.
